Free For All: Growing Up and website additions
Today, as every weekday, I helped get Gillian (4yr old) get on the bus. Gillian is slightly smaller than her peers and is a bit shy/unsure at time when participating in activities. As the bus approached I asked for her hand and she said, “no, I’ll do it.”
My baby got on the bus all by herself as I watched from afar. *sigh*
I was happy for her and a little sad for me but it was time. It was Gillian’s time and I am glad I trusted her to decide when she was ready to tackle this milestone.
Everyday, our children have the opportunity to test their boundaries, to determine the course of their learning and to grapple with challenges. When children are trusted to be strong, capable beings, it never ceases to amaze me what they can accomplish. And for children this is play, this is the world.
And now a website totally unrelated, well not totally unrelated:http://www.earthhour.org/home/
