Pots and Pans:What More Does She Need?
Erin played with the pots and pan band today. Now that she is sitting up, she accompanies Mommy with her own sets of sound, mine is drip, drop, her is brrrr, grrrr and tap, pound tap.
I am in the midst of reading the Draft of the Revised Developmentally Appropriate Practices. The original created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children was the first book that I read as education major that made me want to teach. (more information here) However, the in the last two years I have begun to seriously question the organization and its future. As I glance at the revisions, I am actually pleasantly surprised by the focus on families. I will reserve judgment on entire document until I have time to really delve into it but as of right now, I believe Erin’s pot and pan experience was DAP.
