Santa Provides Quantity or Quality
Santa arrived at our house as he had the last six years but something was different. At first I couldn’t pinpoint what was different and then it hit me, he left less stuff than the previous years. Now on the Santa list this year, Bella asked for a baby doll and Gillian asked for a dump truck and a baby doll, it was a pretty easy job for Santa, especially since Erin is too young to ask for anything, so he really had lighter load to deliver.
As the presents were opened, each girl got a baby and a few other toys but nothing outrageous or overdone. In the following days, what the girls have played with, really shows how the quality of the present is more important than the amount. One of their favorite gifts was a drum. Each girl got a drum, which Santa must have ordered from Greater Gift. The design of the drum is simple but beautiful and they have banged away on the drums each day. He also gave the girls soft fleece covered chairs to sit and read books in. I think Santa is on the right track with the quality of toys, many of the toys were made either locally or from fair trade organizations. The play value of the toys they received will last them the next five years and will also extend to the next generation of children as they were made to last. I am giving Santa a big thumbs up this year, he did a fantastic job!
