Sidewalk Paint and Art

I purchased some sidewalk paint from one of the many dollar type stores that we have in the area.

I pulled it out today and the girls played, colored and painted for 30-40 minutes. I really liked the feel of the paints, it was similiar to finger paints and the colors were vivid.

Quality art materials are very important to me. I spend a fair amount of objects, paper, paints, brushes, markers, pencils and other miscelaneous things.

I also find that in the summer the girls enjoy painting even more than they do during the other seasons, so I am moving the easel to the kitchen. I am also putting their small art table on the back porch, with a shelf for supplies. I figure this makes more sense than carting everything back and forth since we spend most of our time outdoors.

We haven’t played with shaving cream in a long time, so I think we will get it out and use it to wash away the paint from today. There is so much we can do outdoors with art and I am looking forward to less mess in the house. (Yes, I love mess but it sure easier to clean kids with a hose than it is to give them a bath.)

I hope to find some time to write a few more serious posts but honestly my head has been in the clouds. The weather is just too nice for serious thinking and the girls are keeping me very active.
